:: The Great Catastrophe ذكرى النكبة

Today is a day that touches the heart of the majority of the Arab world, it is not the so called 'Birthday' of Israel, it is the anniversary of The Great Catastrophe that happened in PALESTINE.

Although my origins are not Palestinian (British Father, Jordanian Mother),  I can't help but feel with the heartache of my Palestinian and Arab friends. In my opinion, today is a day of International sadness, Al-Nakba In human terms, occurred in 1948 and everyone all around the world saw the mass deportation of a million Palestinians from their cities and villages, massacres of civilians, and the destruction to the ground of hundreds of Palestinian villages.
Imagine someone coming into your house, murdering your brother, sister, mother, or father, throwing you out and then call your home... THEIRS!
Not in any religion, mentality, culture or background is that considered even remotely acceptable, what happened back then is the real definition of TERRORISM. Children being slaughtered in front of their mothers, women being raped and killed,  grandfathers and grandmothers thrown out into the streets,  how can these people even dare to call themselves believers in God?
My father (who is an English man and has been living in the Middle East for 35 years) gets teary eyed when watching the news and sees all that is happening to our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

This topic really angers me, and you don't have to be a Palestinian to feel the anger and rage, you don't even have to be an Arab! All you have to be is Human!

I hope that Palestine will one day be returned to its 'RIGHTFUL'  owners. Justice will eventually prevail because God Almighty will save the oppressed.

Xx

Yeh Nat, I totally agree with you; you only have to be human to feel the anger!

I loved this sentence: "You don't have to be a Palestinian to feel the anger and rage, you don't even have to be an Arab! All you have to be is Human!"

So true, and after all its a human rights issue.
